Scottsdale is home to some of the best coffee shops in the state, each offering a unique experience and excellent coffee. In this local's guide, I present to you the 7 best Scottsdale coffee shops (according to me).
I selected these Scottsdale coffee shops based on the quality of coffee and the overall experience considering atmosphere, staff friendliness, and food options. My drink of choice is a hot or iced Americano - a simple drink containing espresso and water, but I did my best to include what makes each Scottsdale coffee shop unique.

Located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, Berdenas is a gem that combines the art of coffee with a bohemian aesthetic. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and mouth-watering pastries including cinnamon rolls and blueberry cornmeal scones. Berdenas' artful decor and indoor / outdoor seating make it the perfect place to enjoy your morning brew no matter the season.
Berdenas’ offers specialty drinks such as the Rose Cardamom Latte and the Honey Lavender Latte and seasonal drinks including the Winter Spice Latte and Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Not in the mood for coffee? No problem. Berdena’s menu also includes a wide variety of artisanal teas such as Sencha (Japanese Green Tea) and White Wedding (Chinese white tea, organic lavender, rose petals, and orange blossoms).
What I really appreciate about Berdena’s breakfast food is the commitment to quality. They offer three items done extremely well: avocado toast (voted best in Phoenix by the Phoenix New Times in 2017), a breakfast Burrito, and a breakfast sandwich - all made with high-quality ingredients you can taste.
When comparing Scottsdale coffee shops, Berdena's is at the top of my list. It’s one of those rare places where no matter what you order, you can expect to leave satisfied.

If you're a fan of vintage cars and exceptional coffee, Fourtillfour is the place for you. Located in the Scottsdale Arts District in Old Town Scottsdale, this unique coffee shop is a Scottsdale staple for car lovers and coffee connoisseurs alike. Fourtillfour hosts a Coffee and Cars Meetup from 7AM to 10AM every Saturday, which makes for a cool atmosphere to get your coffee fix while taking in the aesthetics of rare automobiles. Be advised however that the Porsche group draws a much different crowd than the Vintage Volkswagens.
The one drawback about Fourtillfour is its lack of breakfast food and pastries. They usually have a small plate of cookies or pastries, but the focus here is definitely on high-quality coffee drinks, which it does extremely well. Another drawback is the lack of indoor seating. All seating is on the outdoor patio, which can be less than ideal during Scottsdale's hot summer months.
If you end up going to Fourtillfour, don't forget to check out their merchandise. From stylish t-shirts to coffee mugs and accessories, you can take a souvenir home with you and show off your love for both coffee and cars.

This North Scottsdale coffee shop offers something unique by offering great coffee and a build-your-own bouquet bar, where customers can create their own arrangements from a beautifully curated selection of stems, foliage, and filler flowers and plants. Free supplies are provided to arrange your bouquet, with a florist on staff ready to assist.
Stemistry brings the outdoors indoors with the smell of fresh cut flowers and foliage, and the earthy aroma of tea and coffee. Here you can find brewed drinks that take floral queues, such as a Lavender Latte with real lavender petals, and a Wild Hibiscus Latte. They also offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches, as well as fresh-baked croissants and scones.
Inside you'll find seating that welcomes conversation, with relaxing chairs arranged in the center to invoke conversation with others, while also offering benches and tables with charging ports for those looking for a spot to get work done. Despite the down-to-earth visual appeal, the flower bar and coffee lab does not offer well-established outdoor seating.
The sleek and modern interior creates a welcoming space where you can sit back, relax, and appreciate the artistry that goes into each cup. Whether you're a coffee aficionado, or looking to build a bouquet for your loved one, Stemistry is a must-visit.

Regroup is a haven for cyclists and coffee lovers alike. As the name suggests, it combines two passions - coffee and bicycles. It used to be located in Scottsdale, which is why I included Regroup on the list, but technically the new location is in Tempe - about 2 minutes from South Scottsdale.
When you step inside Regroup, you'll be greeted by a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The walls are adorned with cycling jerseys and other cycling merch, creating a sense of community and camaraderie. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just enjoy a leisurely ride, you'll feel right at home.
But what about the coffee? Regroup takes pride in serving high-quality coffee sourced from local roasters. From velvety lattes to refreshing iced coffees, their menu has something for everyone. And if you're in need of a quick energy boost before hitting the road, their selection of pastries and snacks will keep you fueled.
Regroup Coffee + Bicycles is more than just a coffee shop; it's a gathering place for like-minded individuals who share a love for both coffee and cycling. So grab your bike, head over to Regroup, and enjoy a well-deserved cup of joe.

Want to enjoy a cup, while supporting a pup? In addition to serving exceptional coffee since 2010, Echo is a Scottsdale coffee shop devoted to enriching the lives of vulnerable animals, pets, and people - and contributes a portion of every sale to the Arizona Humane Society.
At Echo Coffee, they believe that great coffee starts with great beans roasted in-house. Each blend of roast beans is named after a furry friend and available for purchase in-store. Here you can find your usual coffee shop menu items, as well as a wide range of unique baked goods such as the Cowboy Cookie, a chocolate cookie with oats, cinnamon and spice, coconut, and pecans. Make sure you stop by early in the morning if you plan on getting a baked treat, as their stock can sell out quickly.
Inside Echo you'll find vintage TV sets, as well as plenty of art featured from Arizona artist Abe Zucca. The seating does leave something to be desired, as the tables are crowded inside, and there is no covered outdoor seating. Regardless, this is a great place to have a moment of peace, get some work done, and have a chat with a friend over an amazing brewed coffee.
So next time you're in South Scottsdale, make sure to stop by Echo Coffee and experience their passion for coffee and supporting their furry friends firsthand.

Formerly known as Maverick Coffee, Tamosan Coffee Lounge combines a modern-cozy aesthetic with outstanding coffee. The open atmosphere offers plenty of seating in both well-lit and darker areas throughout the space. The space does seem a bit unfinished but will likely improve over the next few months.
Tamosan offers the usual coffee drinks plus specialty drinks including a Sage Honey Latte and Cookie Butter Latte. They proudly serve Mythical Coffee - beans sourced from around the world and roasted locally in Gilbert, Arizona. In terms of breakfast food, Tamosan has a somewhat unique take on the breakfast burrito including bacon, pico de gallo, and salad greens as well as several different types of toasts.
Each of these 7 best coffee shops in Scottsdale offer a unique experience and a delicious cup of coffee.
